We Got Ripped Off by MTGproxies.biz / Proxy Ninja

TL;DR: Our experience with MTGproxies.biz, also known as Proxy Ninja, was absolutely terrible. We placed an order for Magic: The Gathering proxy cards, never received our order, and then watched the seller go into non-response mode when we tried to get answers. This was easily the most frustrating experience we’ve ever had buying MTG proxies. Our recommendation couldn’t be clearer: Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Our MTGproxies.biz Order Never Arrived

There is one fairly basic expectation when ordering something online: eventually, the company should send you what you paid for. Apparently, even that is too much to expect from MTGproxies.biz.

We ordered Magic: The Gathering proxy cards from Proxy Ninja expecting a normal transaction. We weren’t asking for anything extraordinary. We wanted the cards we purchased, delivered within a reasonable time, with some basic customer service if something went wrong.

Instead, we got nothing. No cards. No satisfactory resolution. And when we tried to get answers, we were met with silence.

We’ve purchased MTG proxies before, and we’ve experienced the usual differences between sellers. Some have better printing, some have better prices, and some take longer to fulfill orders. That’s part of buying from smaller businesses in a niche hobby.

But we have never had a proxy-buying experience as frustrating as our experience with Proxy Ninja.

What makes this particularly infuriating is how simple the transaction should have been. We paid for a product. The product didn’t arrive. We attempted to resolve the problem. The company stopped responding.

At that point, this stops being a discussion about shipping speed or printing quality. It becomes a question of whether a business deserves to be trusted with customers’ money in the first place.

Based on our experience, MTGproxies.biz absolutely does not.

Proxy Ninja Went Into Non-Response Mode

The missing order was bad enough. The customer service experience made it substantially worse.

A delayed or missing shipment does not automatically make a company terrible. Shipping carriers make mistakes. Packages get lost. Businesses occasionally overlook orders or run into fulfillment problems. Most reasonable customers understand that things can go wrong.

What matters is how the company responds.

When a customer reaches out about an order that hasn’t arrived, the minimum acceptable response is an acknowledgment. Explain what happened. Investigate the shipment. Provide an update. Offer a reasonable solution.

Do something.

Instead, our attempts to get answers from Proxy Ninja went nowhere. The company effectively disappeared from the conversation when we needed assistance.

This is especially galling because Proxy Ninja’s own About Us page makes a point of promising personal customer service. It says customers will “always get an answer” from a real person and emphasizes how much the company supposedly cares about its buyers.

That’s a lovely sales pitch. It just bears no resemblance to our experience.

There is something particularly aggravating about a business that eagerly accepts an order but becomes unreachable when the customer needs help. It leaves the buyer chasing information that the seller should be providing without being asked repeatedly.

And it completely destroys trust.

A bad print can be replaced. A damaged card can be reprinted. A lost package can be investigated. But a seller who won’t communicate leaves customers with no reasonable way to resolve even a simple problem.

For us, Proxy Ninja’s customer service wasn’t merely disappointing. It was practically nonexistent when it mattered most.

The Promises on MTGproxies.biz Make This Even More Ridiculous

The company’s own website makes our experience harder to excuse.

According to the MTGproxies.biz shop policies, orders are supposed to ship within three business days using USPS with tracking. Its FAQ gives a slightly different estimate of three to five business days before shipment.

Neither timeframe sounds unreasonable. Customers ordering printed proxy cards should be perfectly capable of understanding that fulfillment and shipping take time.

But those promises mean very little when an order never reaches the customer and the company cannot be bothered to provide meaningful assistance.

The shop policies also contain a particularly frustrating request. Proxy Ninja asks customers experiencing problems to contact the company before opening a PayPal dispute, explaining that it wants happy repeat customers and will work to resolve issues.

Think about that for a moment.

The company specifically asks customers to bring problems directly to it before involving the payment processor. But what happens when the customer follows that approach and the seller stops responding?

That is exactly why responsive customer service matters.

If a business wants the opportunity to resolve disputes privately, it needs to actually participate in those conversations. It cannot reasonably expect customers to keep waiting indefinitely for answers that never come.

From our perspective, the contrast between Proxy Ninja’s advertised customer service and what we actually experienced is embarrassing.

The website talks about caring for customers, quick fulfillment, and personalized attention. Our actual experience consisted of an undelivered order followed by a complete breakdown in communication.

That’s not the kind of discrepancy that inspires confidence.

We Can’t Even Review the Quality of Proxy Ninja’s MTG Cards

One of the more absurd aspects of this experience is that we can’t tell you whether Proxy Ninja produces decent MTG proxies.

We never received the cards.

We can’t assess the print quality, cardstock, color accuracy, cutting, foils, or anything else buyers ordinarily care about when purchasing Magic: The Gathering proxy cards.

And frankly, those considerations become irrelevant when the company fails to deliver the product.

Proxy Ninja spends considerable space on its website discussing realistic card stock, authentic-looking finishes, and the quality of its reproductions. Those are all legitimate selling points in the MTG proxy market.

But beautiful product photographs and impressive descriptions mean absolutely nothing if the customer never gets to hold the cards.

You could theoretically produce the finest proxy cards in existence. If you take someone’s order and fail to deliver it, the customer still gets no value whatsoever.

For that reason, we cannot give Proxy Ninja any credit for its advertised card quality. We have no firsthand basis for evaluating it.

What we can evaluate is the ordering experience, fulfillment outcome, and customer support.

On those measures, our experience was a complete failure.

Why We Strongly Recommend Avoiding MTGproxies.biz / Proxy Ninja

There are plenty of reasons someone might choose one MTG proxy seller over another. Price, selection, printing quality, customization options, and shipping speed all matter.

But every one of those factors depends on something far more important: reliability.

Can you trust the company to send what you ordered? And if something goes wrong, can you trust it to respond and help resolve the problem?

Our experience with MTGproxies.biz gave us absolutely no confidence on either point.

This isn’t a case where we received a slightly disappointing print or thought shipping should have been a day faster. Those would be relatively minor complaints.

We never received our order, and our attempts to get answers ultimately went unanswered.

That’s about as fundamental a failure as an online purchase can have.

We also think it’s important to distinguish between a company making a mistake and a company failing to take responsibility for resolving one. Mistakes happen in every business. What separates a good seller from a bad one is whether customers can count on the business when something goes wrong.

In our case, we couldn’t count on Proxy Ninja.

We can’t speak for every other customer’s order, and we have no way of knowing exactly what happened behind the scenes with ours. But we can speak with complete confidence about our own experience.

It was awful.

And we see absolutely no reason to recommend that someone else risk having the same experience.

There are enough options for buying MTG proxy cards that customers shouldn’t feel obligated to gamble on a seller that has already demonstrated this level of unreliability in our experience.

We wouldn’t order from MTGproxies.biz again, and we wouldn’t encourage anyone else to do so.

Customer Service Isn’t Optional Just Because You’re a Small Business

Proxy Ninja describes itself as a small, family-run business. That might explain why its operations are smaller than those of a major retailer, but it doesn’t excuse leaving customers without answers.

Small businesses can provide excellent customer service. In fact, responsive personal attention is often one of their biggest advantages.

Customers generally don’t expect a small MTG proxy seller to operate a sophisticated support department. They expect someone to respond to an email, look into an order, and provide a straightforward explanation.

That isn’t an unreasonable demand. It’s the bare minimum.

We would have much more respect for a seller that honestly admitted an order was delayed, explained the circumstances, and made a genuine effort to resolve the problem.

Instead, what we experienced from Proxy Ninja was silence.

That silence is what turned an already frustrating missing-order situation into the worst proxy-buying experience we’ve had.

It also makes the company’s claims about personalized customer service ring particularly hollow.

A business doesn’t get credit for caring about customers merely because its website says it does. It earns that reputation through its actions, especially when something goes wrong.

From our perspective, Proxy Ninja failed that test spectacularly.

What If You’ve Already Ordered From Proxy Ninja?

If you’ve already placed an order with MTGproxies.biz and haven’t received it, our recommendation is to take the situation seriously rather than continuing to wait without clear information.

Check your order confirmation and any available tracking details. Contact the seller directly, explain that the order hasn’t arrived, and request a specific update or resolution. Keep copies of your correspondence, order confirmation, and payment records.

If the company doesn’t respond, consider using the dispute process available through your payment provider rather than allowing the situation to drag on indefinitely.

Proxy Ninja’s website states that it accepts payments through PayPal. For eligible PayPal purchases, an Item Not Received dispute generally must be opened within 180 days of payment. Once a dispute is opened, PayPal generally requires it to be escalated to a claim within 20 days if the issue remains unresolved.

Those deadlines matter. Don’t let unanswered messages cause you to miss the opportunity to protect your purchase.

We also encourage customers with direct experiences, positive or negative, to leave accurate reviews explaining what happened. Other MTG players deserve to know how a seller handles problems, not merely how attractive its product listings look.

Our Final Verdict: Avoid, Avoid, Avoid

Our experience with MTGproxies.biz / Proxy Ninja was a disaster.

We paid for Magic: The Gathering proxy cards. We never received our order. And when we sought help, communication effectively stopped.

That’s the entire problem, and it’s more than enough to determine our recommendation.

We don’t need to speculate about the company’s intentions or make sweeping claims about every transaction it processes. The facts of our own purchase are frustrating enough.

We got ripped off in the most ordinary sense of the phrase: we paid for something and didn’t get what we purchased.

For a company selling relatively straightforward products online, that’s a miserable outcome. The lack of meaningful customer support made it even worse.

We have no interest in giving Proxy Ninja another opportunity to disappoint us, and we certainly aren’t going to recommend it to other Magic players.

If you’re considering ordering proxies from MTGproxies.biz, our advice is simple: don’t.

This was the most frustrating experience we’ve ever had buying MTG proxies. Avoid MTGproxies.biz / Proxy Ninja. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
